Community Education Centre

The Community Education Centre is based on the main Lincoln College campus; it offers adult learners the opportunity for personal and professional development in a friendly, relaxed environment.

The Community Education Centre offers flexible, self-directed study to suit your needs and the needs of your employer.

Learn at your own pace, at times that fit around your lifestyle in our computer suite with support from our qualified and experienced tutors.

Choose from a variety of IT courses from beginner to advanced levels; we also offer learners the chance to enrol on free 'taster' courses in a range of IT subjects that allow you to try out the centre and gain confidence before enrolling on a qualification.

We have a wide range of courses which will expand your horizons, allow you learn a new skill, have fun, or take the first steps towards returning to education.

Our community courses are held in a variety of venues within your community including schools, children’s centres and libraries.

We have friendly tutors and a range of short, taster and introductory courses available so you don’t need to worry about returning to learning. Many of our courses are cost-free! For courses that do have fees: if you receive certain means-tested benefits, you may not have to pay for your course.

Open Learning

We offer a choice of learning opportunities to suit your individual needs.

You can choose the days and times to access your course providing you are able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours a week study in the centre. All sessions are 2 hours in duration and can be booked in advance.

Our dedicated team of tutors and administrators will offer you full support, encouragement and will facilitate you to successfully complete the course.

Distance Learning

We understand that you will have your own individual learning needs and fitting in study around your lifestyle can be tricky.

We offer distance learning packages that are aimed at individual learners and employers.

Distance courses allow you to study at your own pace and in your own time, in a location that suits you. Your progress will be monitored, and you will be provided with prompt and helpful comments on your progress in relation to learning expectations and goals. Tutor support is provided via email or over the phone.

Bespoke Learning

We can take the stress out of developing your workforce with our bespoke learning packages.

We can tailor our offering in order to meet the training needs of your business.

We will work closely with your organisation to offer the best study options for you and your employees.

Work-Based Learning

We understand that not all learners will need to attend college to successfully complete their studies.

Work-based learning can enhance your continuing professional development and meet the needs of you and your employer. Enjoy self-managed learning in the workplace whilst your employer benefits from having a highly-skilled workforce.

A range of courses are suitable for work-based learners, including the ECDL and ITQ courses.
