This qualification is suitable for those who are employed in a supervisory or managerial capacity in any area of the hospitality industry.
It is envisaged that candidates will be drawn from hotels, restaurants and public houses in addition to clubs, nightclubs and bars.
Job roles of an Advanced Apprentice in Hospitality Supervision & Leadership
• Senior barperson
• Head Waiter/Waitress
• Duty Manager
The entry requirements for commencement are varied and will depend on previous experience of the candidate, but in general:
• You must be aged 16 or over, not in full-time education or training and have been resident in the UK / EEA for at least three years
• GCSE’s grades A – C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
• Successful completion of Initial Assessments
• A suitable work placement
How will I be assessed?
The Advanced Apprentice will be assessed in the workplace. To ensure that all the competences are met, regular review meetings with take place with your assessor and your employer to effect the successful achievement of the framework.
• Set objectives and provide support for team members
• Develop working relationships with colleagues
• Contribute to the control of resources
• Maintain the health, hygiene and security or the working environment
• Lead a team to improve customer service
Optional Units may include:
• Supervise food services
• Supervise drink services
• Supervise functions
• Supervise reception services
Additional components of The Diploma Hospitality Supervision & Leadership Advanced Apprenticeship:
• Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths, English (unless otherwise exempt)
• Employer Rights and Responsibilities
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
• A Technical Certificate

If you are aged 24 and over on the start date of your course and want to study a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, the Apprentice will be required to pay a fee towards the training in addition to your employer paying a contribution.
Students aged 16-18 years
The government funds the majority of courses for students aged 16-18 years. Fees may apply to students who are doing commercial courses.

Students aged 19-23 years
Some courses are subsidised by the government. You may be entitled to a discount for these courses dependant upon your circumstances.

Students aged 24+ years

For those apprentices aged 16-18 there will be no cost to the employer. For apprentices aged 19 and over, there will be an annual administration fee to the employer of £350.
