This is a Level 2 qualification comprising core and specialist units which cover aspects of knowledge, understanding and competency necessary for employment within the IT sector. The qualification has been designed to inspire and enthuse learners to be producers, rather than just consumers of computer-based products and systems.
On completion of this qualification, you may progress into employment or to the BTEC 90 Credit Diploma in IT programme. This qualification can provide the knowledge component part of the apprenticeship framework for IT and Telecoms Professionals.
The qualification will contain all or some of the following units: Maintaining Equipment and Systems; Customer Support Provision; Install and Configure ICT Equipment and Operating Systems; Install, Configure and Maintain Software; ICT Systems Monitoring and Operation; Install, Configure and Test ICT Networks.

You will need 4 GCSE’s (minimum Grade E). BTECs in Science or ICT related subjects will also be considered. You will also be required to pass a skills test as-well as be screened in Maths and English.
You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of internally and externally assessed units.
