Designed to ensure that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the general public.

This qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose.

Anyone in a work environment

Why is this training important?

Employers are responsible for providing safe and healthy workplace conditions as well as the right systems and methods for safe activities. Employees need the right knowledge and the right attitude which demands proper training in the basics of health and safety.

Learning outcomes

Attendees will be given a basic understanding in, amongst other topics:

  • Principles of Health & Safety and accident prevention
  • Ability to contribute to any health and safety management system
  • Risk assessments
  • Manual handling
  • Health & Safety Law
  • Hazardous substances
  • Ergonomics and workspace design
  • Noise vibration
  • Working at heights

There are no formal entry requirements for attendees

Assessment is by means of a one-hour multiple choice examination comprising 30 questions. The pass mark for successful completion is 20.

 

CIEH Level 3 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace.

Fees for the 2013/14 academic year are currently under review. Figures given below are indicative only and subject to change. Fees will be posted here as soon as they become available.

 

The current fee for the academic year 2012-13 is £55 which is inclusive of all registration and examination costs.
