Portable Appliance Testing: 1 day course for electricians

This course combines theoretical and practical elements to successfully achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate for the Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

The course can be run as a 1 day course for people who are fully trained electricians, or over 2 days for those who are not.

Content

The course covers the following topics:

  • Basic electrical theory
  • Equipment construction
  • Inspection
  • Recording
  • Combined inspection and testing
  • Equipment
  • Management of information

There are no formal Entry Requirements for this course although for those not in an electrical based occupation, we offer a one day basic electrical theory course which will need to be completed prior enrolment on the 2377 course.

On completion of the course, the candidate must complete a practical assessment and an external City & Guilds examination (2377–11 and 2377-12 multiple choice on-line exam).

If successful the candidate will be awarded the above certificate/s.

A copy of IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment will be included in the course

One day for electricians - £185

Two days for non-electricians - £315

Candidate must bring proof of payment, if self funding, or a confirmation letter from their employer in order to invoice.
