Each Trainee who attends this programme of training will be working towards credits for a Diploma Level 3 in Carpentry or Joinery.
Each Trainee who attends this programme of training will be working towards credits for a Diploma Level 3 in Carpentry or Joinery. The course allows trainees to progress from a Level 2 / Diploma Level 2 to the above qualification and as with the level 2 is approved by City and Guilds
A Diploma level 2 in Carpentry or Joinery is required (or equivalent construction award) a reasonable level of communication, arithmetical and manual skills is an advantage.
You will participate in a test day where you are invited into an informal group discussion /interview, take a practical test and theory test paper.
On completion of an NVQ Level 3 a choice of routes are available:
• The Chartered Institute of Building Certificate in Site Supervisory Studies.
• A bridge year to HNC in Construction.
• It should be noted that that as the holder of a Level 3 qualification they could be admitted direct onto the HNC but in all probability would find they needed the bridge year input on topics such as Analytical Methods (Mathematics), Science and Materials, Surveying, Measurement etc.
Students aged 16-18 years
The government funds the majority of courses for students aged 16-18 years.

Students aged 19-23 years
Some courses are subsidised by the government. You may be entitled to a discount for these courses dependant upon your circumstances.
Students aged 24+ years
Some courses up to Level 2 are subsidised by the government. If you are applying for a Level 3 or Level 4 course, you may be eligible to apply for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan; for further information visit www.lincolncollege.ac.uk/plus24
