If you want to pursue a career as a fashion designer then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress through the levels of fashion design. You will start by learning the basic skills necessary to develop your creativity. This is regarded as a diagnostic period where we can assess the strengths and weaknesses of individual students.
Upon successful completion you will be able to progress onto Higher Education or into the fashion industry.
During this course, you will: use your basic skills to develop a personal style through research and product development; design and manufacture a small collection of garments and write your own project outline that will reflect your interests.

You will need 4 GCSE’s including Mathematics, English and an Art of Design subject (minimum grade C) not including Expressive Arts, or a Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design.
You will be required to attend an interview, where you will be required to show your art and design ability in a portfolio of artwork. You are also required to provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of individual meetings and formal assessments, where work is submitted for grading.
