If you want to pursue a career as a musician then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress through the levels of music. Performances will take place throughout the course at a range of different public venues. The course finishes with a major performance at a popular Lincoln venue.
Upon successful completion, you will be able to seek employment within the music industry or progress onto Higher Education.
During this course, you will explore both theoretically and practically the following topics: composing and arranging music involving a variety of instruments; a wide range of themes including modern music practice, musical theatre, improvisation and singing; working and developing as a musical ensemble; developing performance techniques; operating audio recording equipment and software; sound recording techniques; an understanding of acoustics; music theory which includes a study of harmony and rhythm and music styles and periods that influence modern musical practices.

You will need 5 GCSE’s including English Language and Music (minimum Grade C) or equivalent qualifications.
You will be required to attend an interview, where you have an audition. You are also required to provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of individual meetings and formal assessments, where work is submitted for grading.
