This course is suitable for anyone wishing to experience a wide variety of engineering activities, relevant to local industry. Training is at level 1 and of a predominantly practical nature. The aim is to provide both experience and knowledge on which to base future career and associated course decisions.
Successful completion gives a sound preparation for training or employment in production or maintenance, and/or progression to NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations.
The course includes a Level 1 Technical Certificate in Engineering & Technology and an NVQ Level 1 in Performing Engineering Operations.
The units that you will study include: Working Safely in an Engineering Environment; Carrying Out Engineering Activities Efficiently and Effectively; Using and Communicating Technical Information; Making Components Using Hand Tools and Fitting Techniques; Using Lathes For Turning Operations.
