Duration:10 week blocks each term(Sept/Jan/April), one evening a week.
This furniture making introductory course aims to develop an individuals practical skills to produce quality items of furniture
Learners are expected to practice techniques related to furniture making. More experienced learners can expand their constructional skills alongside veneering elements and inlay work. Learners may be inducted on some machinery and portable power tools as appropriate, and are expected to use them to support the production process. Learners can produce work of their own design and tailor the course to suit their needs.
Learners need to ensure they have safety shoes/boots/trainers and safety glasses for the workshops.
There are no formal entry requirements.
There is no formal assessment.
Learners are given individual help and feedback. There are no formal qualifications.
Learners may progress onto full time City & Guilds qualifications.
Students aged 16-18
The majority of courses are free for students aged 16-18 years.
This course receives PCDL funding for learners so some fee remission may be applicable. Course fees are £245.00 per 10 week term. Payment for the course can be undertaken by registering on-line via the link above.
