Hand on course investigating basic concepts utilising input and output devices, through to complete circuit faults.

Programme Content

> Introduction, which will include health and safety isolation procedure.

> Fault finding, utilising:

  • Digital and analogue inputs and outputs.
  • A range of input sensors, which may include; inductive, capacitive sensors and proximity switches, photo and optical sensors. Micro and limit switches and relays.

> Assorted output devices, such as; lamps, LED's, buzzers/sounders, relays, coils and solenoids.

> Panel Writing and identification methods.

> Introduction to reading circuit diagrams and schematic drawings.

The course contains two class assignments, the satisfactory completion of which entitles the participant to a College Cetificate.

There are no formal entry requirements but applicants will be expected to have some electrical knowledge.
